History
In 1996, Tahir Khilji was working on a women's
health mapping project in Lahore, when he realized that there
was a sizable community of zenanas in the city. Zenanas identify
themselves with women, although they can be physically classified
as men. Zenanas consitute a marginalized community. As such, they
often do not have access to basic health information.
Vision stepped in to fill this gap.
In 1997, Vision was registered with the Government
of Pakistan as a non-profit organization, working in areas of
Public Health and Human rights.
